DAY 7 Conquer the Trails to Thekkady
Prepare for a challenging yet incredibly scenic ride today as we head towards the lush Kallar River valley. You’ll tackle a series of rolling hills, cycling through some of the most beautiful landscapes Kerala has to offer. Our destination is the Periyar National Reserve Forest, the largest wildlife sanctuary nestled in the Western Ghats.
After conquering today’s hills, we will check into the hotel for a well-deserved dinner and a restful night.
DAY 8 A Wild Day Out in Thekkady
Enjoy a well-earned rest day with plenty of adventure options. You can take a peaceful boat ride across the park’s expansive lake, explore the dense forests and hidden trails of the tiger reserve, or opt for an exciting jeep safari. Lunch is on your own today, giving you the perfect excuse to sample local Keralite cafes.
In the evening, we will gather back at the hotel for dinner and swap stories of our wildlife encounters.
DAY 9 The Scenic Route to Vagamon
Get ready for what promises to be some of the best cycling in Kerala. We will ride along tranquil provincial highways and secondary roads, where vibrant tea and spice plantations blanket the hillsides right within arm’s reach. Your efforts will bring you to Vagamon, a picturesque and misty hill station perched elegantly at 1,100 meters.
We will wrap up the day at our hotel, enjoying a warm dinner and a cozy night’s sleep.
DAY 10 Roll into Kumarakom
The terrain eases out today as our route stays mostly flat. We will follow quiet, charming country roads across the fertile plains of the Meenachil River. This historic region is home to an ancient community deeply linked to St. Thomas the Apostle, and after a tasty lunch, we’ll visit the beautiful St. Thomas Church.
We’ll finish our day’s ride at the serene banks of Vembanad Lake before heading to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.
DAY 11 Kerala Backwater Cruise
Before noon, we embark on an unmissable and iconic Keralite experience: a day and night cruise on Lake Vembanad and its expansive network of hidden canals. We’ll board a beautifully converted traditional rice barge. These vintage houseboats come fully equipped with cozy bedrooms, lounging areas, and a dedicated captain, cook, and crew.
Relax and enjoy freshly prepared traditional meals on board as you drift into a peaceful night’s sleep on the water.
DAY 12 Coastal Vibes at Mararikulam Beach
Wake up to breakfast aboard the houseboat as we glide across the mighty Vembanad Lake. After stepping off the boat, hop back onto your bike for a leisurely, completely flat ride towards the coast.
We’ll arrive at the coconut palm-fringed Mararikulam Beach right in time for lunch. The afternoon is completely yours to dip your toes in the Arabian Sea or indulge in an optional, relaxing Ayurvedic massage before we head to our beachside stay for dinner.
DAY 13 Ride the Coast to Fort Kochi
Today we ride to Kochi through a narrow, dramatic stretch of coastal Kerala, perfectly sandwiched between the crashing waves of the Arabian Sea to the west and calm backwater lagoons to the east. While the route stays mostly inland, we’ll swing by a beach or two along the way to cool down with some refreshments and a fresh ocean breeze.
We’ll finish the ride at our hotel in Fort Kochi for a peaceful evening and dinner.
DAY 14 Discover Historic Fort Kochi by Cycle
Fort Kochi beautifully reflects centuries of Chinese, Arab, Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences. Your casual ride can include iconic stops like the Old Harbor, St. Francis Church, the Dutch Palace, Santa Cruz Basilica, Vasco House, and the Paradesi Synagogue.
The afternoon is yours to relax, browse antique shops, or visit local museums before we meet up in the evening for a special farewell dinner.
